Ask the kids to get dressed up in armour.

  • if you are teaching online give the kids a few minutes to go and get dressed up in as many things as possible. (ex. bike helmet, butter knife, pot lid as a shield)

  • If you are in person, give each of the kids a different piece of armour.

  • Have a nerf gun and shoot each of the kids one at a time. The trick is, they can only use their piece of armour to protect themselves.

  • Talk about how we have lots of armour, so we are fully protected.

Play a game with the kids where they need to finish the sentence.

  • For example start with “the helmet of….” and they need to say “salvation”

Idea 3

  • put pictures up of each of the pieces of the armour of God.

  • Ask the kids to stand in the middle and you call our each of the pieces.

  • Get the kids to run from picture to picture depending on what you called.

Idea 4

Read through this story with the kids.

- Let them colour it in as you ask them questions about each piece of armour.

  • You want to play video games when you are doing online school.

  • When you feel all lone.

  • When you keep getting in trouble and you have had a hard day.

  • Your brother or sister says mean things to you.

  • You are mean to your brother or sister.

  • You don’t do well on a quiz at school.

Idea 6

Take some time to pray through the armour.

  • We put on the belt of truth. God please remind us of your truth

  • We put on the breastplate of righteousness. God please forgive us and help us to do what is right.

  • We take up our shield of faith. God please shield us from the devil’s lies.

  • We take up the sword of the spirit. God thank you for your word, please help us to use it.

  • We put on the shoes of the gospel of peace. God please help us tell everyone about you.

  • We put on the helmet of salvation. God thank you for saving us.
