God Speaks - Prayer

Here is a video on prayer

Idea 1

Look at some of the bible stories in the bible where God speaks

• 1 Samuel 3

• Exodus 3

• Genesis 18

Idea 2

• Slow down

• Ask kids to stop and ask God to speak to them.

• Give them some time, then ask them what they heard.

Idea 3

• Read a verse or a few verses from the bible. (like “Give us today our daily bread” from the Lord’s prayer)

• Ask them if there is anything that jumps out at them. (any words)

• Let them use their imaginations, (let them imagine bread, favourite bread, making bread etc.)

• Pray about what they have imagined.

Idea 4

 -  Before your lesson, ask the kids parents to record their voices.  

• I asked them to say “Who’s Mom/Dad is this?”

• Then play the recordings one at a time for the kids and see if they can guess their parents voice.

• Have a conversation with the kids, talk about knowing what our Mom’s and Dad’s voices sounds like, and when we get used to hearing from God, we get to know what He sounds like too.
